Research Assistantship Positions Fall 2024-2025

Research Assistant Positions: 

Department of Mechanical Engineering will employ part time and/or full-time teaching-research assistants for Fall 2024-25 semester for the duties as mentioned below. Applications should be made to via email until 12 September 2024 Thursday. Applications after this date will not be accepted. Only those candidates are eligible to apply who have acquired admission to MS/PhD program.

NOTE: Interviews will be performed on 13-17 September 2024 (Face to Face/ Online). Further information to the applicants about the interviews will be provided later.

Research Assistant Duties:

Primary Duties:

  1. Delivering the courses assigned by the relevant department (for category A research assistants)                        
  2. Carrying out or helping others carry out tutorials, laboratory, studio and other similar educational activities.
  3. Helping with the course preparation and/or helping in the regular functioning of the laboratory / studios.
  4. Assessing homework, quiz, laboratory reports and other similar assignments for assigned courses
  5. Performing invigilation duties during exams
  6. Providing help in the organizations of various activities such as exams, accreditation work, congress, conference, seminar etc.
  7. Along with the academic duties, undertaking administrative duties assigned

Secondary Duties:

  1. Arranging and meeting students during contact hours.
  2. Working at academic support desks.
  3. Keeping a record of the homework and exam results.
  4. Performing duties in centers and institutes.
  5. Providing help regarding student registration.
  6. Providing help as an assistant editor in magazines, newsletters, bulletins etc.
  7. Providing help in the organization of the graduation ceremony and other similar events.
  8. Performing the duties assigned by the department chair and/or dean and / or the person in charge of the unit.
