Professor Atikol Attended the "Efficiency in Natural Resources and Alternative Energy" Workshop Organized by TÜBA

Turkish Academy of Sciences (TÜBA) organized a workshop on “Efficiency of Natural Resources and Alternative Energy Solutions” between 20-21 March 2023. The event took place in Grand Pasha Lefkoşa Hotel. Topics of discussion included water and energy efficiency issues. Cutting-edge energy advancements, such as blending hydrogen into natural gas and producing synthetic natural gas were also discussed. It was also suggested that Cyprus could be an energy island selling different forms of energy to the neighbouring countries, using the abundant solar energy available. The last event was a discussion panel, in which Prof. Dr. Uğur Atikol, chair of the Energy Research Centre, Eastern Mediterranean University, advocated the need of adoption of utility demand-side management during the clean energy transition period.
