Prof. Dr. Uğur Atikol Attended GreenConnect workshop as an invited speaker

The Director of Energy Research Centre, Eastern Mediterranean Univeristy , Prof. Dr. Ugur ATIKOL talked in GreenConnect
Workshop supported by British High Commission in Cyprus. His speech titled “A streamlined demand-side management
(DSM) approach for clean energy transition” received attention from a bi-communal group of attendees. He explained the
emerging duck curve in Cyprus, and cutting-edge DSM technologies like microgrid systems, EV bi-directional charging, and
smart storage. He also discussed how DSM strategies should be updated to meet with contemporary issues of the
renewable energy era. He finalized by suggesting that this approach could be a win-win case for the utilities, the
consumers and the businesses.
